Jean-Francois Dumoulin and team #04 Spectra Premium<\/strong> | Groupe Bellemare | Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Mitsubishi | MIA | Bernier Cr\u00e9peau Chrysler Fiat distinguished themselves by a typical fighting spirit yesterday on the Toronto circuit. A slow puncture during qualifying caused an oversteer and cost tenths of a second. However, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Dumoulin had not said his last word. Tenth on the starting grid, he delighted us with his attacking style, especially at the end of the race when he made some bold overtaking until he crossed the finish line in fifth position.<\/p>\n

The weather made Saturday a little more complex when the heavy rain and thunderstorms delayed the start of the race from 5:30 pm to 6:55 pm. The drivers coped well with the mixed surface, as the race, punctuated by three caution periods, ended in a spectacular fashion to the delight of the spectators.<\/p>\n

In the race, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Dumoulin delivered another clean and aggressive performance, moving up the field in his usual methodical way. His progress over the race distance was impressive. “The car #04 Spectra Premium<\/strong> | Groupe Bellemare | Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Mitsubishi | MIA | Bernier Cr\u00e9peau Chrysler Fiat was spot-on, and I had fun snaking my way through the top-10 pack. A podium was within our reach on the last laps, but I didn’t want to risk an incident by pushing too hard. The team was efficient, and we are confident for the Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Grand Prix,” said the driver and general manager of Dumoulin Competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A shortened race for Jean-Frederic Laberge – <\/strong>car #91 Dagobert<\/p>\n

The 2012 Porsche GT3 Cup Canada champion and veteran of European GT series races, Montrealer Jean-Frederic Laberge, was in his second NASCAR Pinty’s series appearance at the wheel of the #91 Dagobert prepared by Dumoulin Competition. “The Pinty’s car takes me to a new world compared to my last visit here in an F1600 almost 20 years ago: twice the weight, four times the power, tires that change their behaviour as the race progresses and a body that forgives minor rubbing against the walls. I was very confident for the race, the car was performing so well that I was aiming for a top-10, or even a top-5,” said a confident driver before the race.<\/p>\n

“At the start, the engine would not fire up, and we had to push it to get going. Relegated at the very back of the grid for the actual start, I quickly climbed back into the top-15 before making a slight error and driving into the tire barrier and out of the race on lap 9,” confirmed the Team #91 Dagobert driver after the race.<\/p>\n

“The Dumoulin Corner<\/strong>” exhibit at the Gilles-Villeneuve Museum.\u00a0<\/strong>On May 8th<\/sup>, 2018, the brothers Jean-Fran\u00e7ois and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin proudly unveiled “The Dumoulin Corner” (L’Espace Dumoulin), an exhibit at the Gilles-Villeneuve Museum as part of the “50 Years at the Wheel” celebrations.\u00a0Those who missed the exhibition last year can see it this year, along with the creations of Luc Pilon, who inspired the “50 Years” logo.<\/strong><\/p>\n
