Team #47 WeatherTech Canada<\/strong>\u00a0| Groupe Bellemare focused on an effective race strategy today on the Jukasa Motor Speedway oval. From twelfth on the starting grid, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin moved up to eighth on lap 25 of this 200-lap race. Efficient pit stops allowed the team to protect or even improve their position for the seven yellow period restarts. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin defended his position with suitable pugnacity. He crossed the finish line in fourth position for the second time in two races.<\/p>\n

“It’s really a great race for Team #47 WeatherTech Canada<\/strong>\u00a0| Groupe Bellemare!” claims Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. “Race strategy, suspension adjustments and pit stops were all well executed. The car was performing well on the longer runs and it paid off in the end, especially to maintain my position and push hard on the penultimate restart and follow Andrew Ranger, who started on the outside row, into second place. However, Andrew took the last restart from the inside lane. It didn’t benefit us, but we were able to protect our fourth position. The team can be proud of our performance.”<\/p>\n

Weekend challenges<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Jukasa Motor Speedway race marked the first use of the new NASCAR Pinty’s oval track tires. After setting the fifth-fastest time in practice on Saturday (June 1st<\/sup>), the unsettle weather complicated finding an efficient set-up for qualifying. After qualifying, the heavy rain forced NASCAR officials to postpone the race to the next day. “We are satisfied with the fifth-quickest time. We know that the car performs well on the long runs, but we need to continue working on key variables to optimize the new tire’s performance,” explained Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.<\/p>\n

Racing in Quebec is always an intense moment for the Dumoulin brothers.
