NASCAR Pinty’s Series: Round 2 \u2013 Oval track \u2013 June 16, 2018: \u00ab\u00a0Rankin Construction 200\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Jean-Francois Dumoulin is back this weekend on a track he really enjoys, the Jukasa Motor Speedway (Hagersville, Ontario) short oval. He finished fifth there last year after a hard-fought race and despite a slow leak in the last laps. As part of the preparation work, the #04\u00a0Spectra Premium <\/strong>| Bernier Cr\u00e9peau Chrysler Fiat | Groupe Bellemare | MIA team tested at Jukasa last week in preparation for this first oval race of the season.<\/p>\n

“We have all been looking forward to this race, on an oval where I feel comfortable. We worked hard during the off-season and the major changes we carried out on the car looked great at our test at Jukasa last week, especially on longer runs. This was a great result, repeating last year’s behaviour when the car was headed for a podium finish when we blew a tire in the last laps. We need to keep that high level of performance for the long runs, as well as come up with an even better qualifying run in order to start the race with the lead pack rather than be forced to run them down. That way, our car is even stronger at the end, when it really counts,” explained the driver of the #04\u00a0Spectra Premium <\/strong>| Bernier Cr\u00e9peau Chrysler Fiat | Groupe Bellemare | MIA car.<\/p>\n

Jukasa Motor Speedway <\/strong><\/p>\n

This \u00ab\u00a0New\u00a0\u00bb track has an interesting history. Operated as Cayuga Speedway from 1966 to 2009, the track was witness to some great racing, featuring NASCAR stars such as Dale Earnhardt, Bobby Allison, Kenny Schrader, Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth, always putting on a show in some classic Visitors vs Locals battles. Area businessmen Kenny Hill and Jerry Montour took over the track in 2016 and turned it into the jewel that it is today, changing the banking all around and widening it to 18\u00a0m. to create a more exciting show.
