Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Dumoulin and the #04 Spectra Premium<\/strong> | Bernier Cr\u00e9peau Chrysler Fiat | Groupe Bellemare | MIA team turned up at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the opening race of the 2018 NASCAR Pinty’s season full of justified pride for the preparation work accomplished during the winter and spring test sessions. Outright speed in the car and team motivation were at a peak, but mechanical problems prevented all that work from turning into a positive result at the end of the day.<\/p>\n

Motor racing is a real character builder for its participants. Building and managing a group of the best specialists and with the necessary equipment and investment does not guarantee winning results. Reality has told us over time that a modicum of luck remains essential to great results. No one can predict the outcome of a race, as on-track incidents can completely turn the results of a race upside down, taking away a victory or handing out an unexpected one.<\/p>\n

The #04 Spectra Premium <\/strong>| Bernier Cr\u00e9peau Chrysler Fiat | Groupe Bellemare | MIA team ran into some bad mechanical luck today, preventing Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Dumoulin from finishing the race. The quality of the work performed by the team over the winter, including going to a very different suspension, a much improved and a more powerful engine clearly made the car quicker, as shown during testings. All the variables were in place for a favourable, competitive result, a top-5 or a podium finish as a stretch goal.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0The weekend frustrated every member of the team, myself included,\u00a0\u00bb as Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Dumoulin told us after the race, \u00ab\u00a0We were ready to perform and optimize the car for every circumstance possible. The crew did some great work to repair our car and then resolve the issues that eventually ruined our day. We changed the transmission and the driveshaft today (Sunday) without fully resolving the issue. Our technical team will analyze what happened in depth, and come up with a permanent solution,” added the driver of the #04 Spectra Premium <\/strong>| Bernier Cr\u00e9peau Chrysler Fiat | Groupe Bellemare | MIA car.<\/p>\n
