Dumoulin Compétition had a successful weekend at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, where Louis-Philippe Dumoulin earned a podium finish on home soil.
The weekend followed a brand-new format this year. Saturday was devoted to a practice session, qualifying and two sprint races: a condensed schedule that required drivers to adapt quickly to the street circuit. The intense heat only added to the challenge, with drivers and mechanics having to cope with gruelling conditions. It was a demanding weekend, both physically and logistically, and one the team managed with discipline from start to finish.
The NASCAR class also drew an impressive number of drivers this year, with 31 cars on track. Sunday’s race was full of twists and turns, featuring several cautions and red flags. Louis-Philippe nevertheless finished on the second step of the podium, despite starting from sixth on the grid. It was a patient, well-executed charge that brought him to the finish line up front, in view of the Trois-Rivières crowd.
For his part, Jean-François delivered one of the finest comebacks of the day. Pushed to the back of the pack at one point in the race, he worked his way through the field all the way up to ninth.
Congratulations to the entire team on a solid weekend, and hats off to the two Dumoulin brothers for representing the Mauricie region so well! The next event takes place as soon as next weekend in Markham, Ontario, for a second consecutive road course.
