NASCAR Pinty’s Series: Fourth round – Urban track – Honda Indy Toronto – July 13th and 14th, 2018
Well positioned as interim leader of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series Driver Championship, and proud bearer of WeatherTech Canada and Groupe Bellemare colours, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will tackle the streets around the Toronto Exhibition Place this coming weekend in the Pinty’s Grand Prix of Toronto race (July 13 and 14). The Dumoulin name will bring back memories to long-time fans, such as Louis-Philippe Dumoulin’s charge up to second place in the Pinty’s race last year, and maybe even going back to his victory in the 2002 Formula Ford 1600 race, on the way to winning that year’s championship.
Racing in the home province of WeatherTech Canada, his major partner, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin is going for the win on the urban track. “We were on the podium last year and this year we all want the win! Our strong showing in the first three races of the season is proof that our #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare team is a potential winner every time out. We are out there with one objective: maximum effort and a win at the end of the day,” according to Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
“The Toronto layout reminds me of Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, another track I enjoy very much. Toronto adds some complicating factors, such as a multiplicity of blind corners where it is difficult to determine braking points and exactly where to turn in, to hit your apex properly, then find out where to punch the throttle to pull out of corners as effectively as possible. Along the straightaways, you must decide when and where to attempt a pass and still be on the track after a successful attempt and not in a wall with a damaged car. With little or no escape area, the track punishes virtually every mistake,” added the veteran driver.
Reminder: Press conference will take place this upcoming Friday July 13th at 1 :30 pm in the Media Room (salon 105) of the Enercare Centre (100 Princes Boulevard, Toronto, M6K 3C3).
